Have you ever noticed how most blog posts and comments include a picture of the author of the post? Have you also noticed that 90% of the posts include not an actual picture, but a slihouete over a colored background. Well, if you have and you want to add your picture, there’s an easy solution for you. The picture is known as a Gravatar, or a Globally Recognized Avatar. Gravatar images are hosted on the Gravatar website located at https://en.gravatar.com/.
Setting up your Gravatar picture is easy. Set up a free account on the website, upload and crop the photo that you want to use with your posts or comments, and then associate your email addresses with your Gravatar Account. After that, any WordPress Blog – anywhere on the web – or any other Gravatar enabled website will pull your photo from the central repository (I told you it was called a Globally Recognized Avatar), and you won’t have to upload your photo to every blog where you comment.
As an added bonus, when you set up your Gravatar account, make sure that you add links to all of your Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, G+) and any websites or bogs where you regularly contribute. This will help boost the SEO ratings of your pages.
We want to keep in touch with our clients and we believe that one of the best ways to do that is through an old-fashioned mailing list. Sign up for our mailing list to receive the latest Mac, iPhone, iPod and SEO Tips and tricks. We will also include news regarding recent product announcements, our Mac Buyers Guide, software recommendations, and OC Techstars promotions and service announcements.
Our Mailing List comes with a No-Spam guarantee and you can unsubscribe at any time.

If your Apple Power Adapter is fraying at the edges, help is on the way. Apple has issued an Adapter Replacement Program, which will allow you to replace your broken, bent or strained adapter with a brand new 85 W MagSafe Adapter. And the best part is that it’s FREE!
The replacement adapter is the new style in-line magnet instead of the original “T” style connection. The in-line connection is an improvement over our already favorite power supply. When the MagSafe came out, it was one of those attention-to-detail features that Mac enthusiasts have come to expect from Apple. No longer would our laptops end up on the Starbucks floor when some careless latte drinker tripped over our power cord. No, instead the magnet would gracefully pull out of the connection leaving our laptop peacefully on the table. Did Apple need to create the MagSafe, no, does it make the “Apple experience” the best computing experience – Absolutely!
Contact your OC Techstars Representative to find out how to qualify for the free adapter replacement program.
And, if you have already purchased a replacement adapter, don’t worry. Apple will refund all or part of the replacement purchase price. See the MagSafe Power Adapter Settlement page for details on obtaining a refund. Just don’t wait too long as you will need to submit your settlement claim before March 21, 2012.
