The replacement adapter is the new style in-line magnet instead of the original “T” style connection. The in-line connection is an improvement over our already favorite power supply. When the MagSafe came out, it was one of those attention-to-detail features that Mac enthusiasts have come to expect from Apple. No longer would our laptops end up on the Starbucks floor when some careless latte drinker tripped over our power cord. No, instead the magnet would gracefully pull out of the connection leaving our laptop peacefully on the table.
