How To Add Your Photo to Your WordPress Author Profile

Have you ever noticed how most blog posts and comments include a picture of the author  of the post? Have you also noticed that 90% of the posts include not an actual picture, but a slihouete over a colored background. Well, if you have and you want to add your picture, there’s an easy solution for you. The picture is known as a Gravatar, or a Globally Recognized Avatar. Gravatar images are hosted on the Gravatar website located at https://en.gravatar.com/.

Setting up your Gravatar picture is easy. Set up a free account on the website, upload and crop the photo that you want to use with your posts or comments, and then associate your email addresses with your Gravatar Account. After that, any WordPress Blog – anywhere on the web – or any other Gravatar enabled website will pull your photo from the central repository (I told you it was called a Globally Recognized Avatar), and you won’t have to upload your photo to every blog where you comment.

As an added bonus, when you set up your Gravatar account, make sure that you add links to all of your Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, G+) and any websites or bogs where you regularly contribute. This will help boost the SEO ratings of your pages.
